Marsha Blackburn (R-crazy town) woke up in the morning and decided to pick a fight with Al Gore on green energy. Her wedge issue: Al Gore has invested in green energy. Apparently no one on her staff told her to have a cocktail, put on the fuzzy slippers, and stay home, because she went ahead and did it (courtesy TomP at DKos):
As a general rule, don’t pick a fight with someone who is smarter than you. Don’t try the “how often do you beat your wife” line with someone who was winning elections when you were trying to get the high school quarterback to notice you. And if you are absolutely positively determined to mix it up, know the subject well enough that you don’t have to read your script like a phonetic translation of Navajo.
