I think we all understand that there are some men who will take advantage of the teaching relationship to try to have sex with young girls. We’re pretty clear that those guys have to go to jail, and after that stay well away from children:

Over the past few years, we have started to see women who try to take advantage of the teaching relationship to try to have sex with boys. We’re not entirely sure what to do with them: consider them crazy, or figure they are too cute for prison and just give them community service:

Now Caso Roble High School (Sacramento in the house) seems to have crossed the fine line between clever and stupid, firing a teacher and cheerleading coach who did not sleep with any students on the grounds that she posed for Playboy. Not entirely sure why being naked away from school would affect someone’s ability to coach, but that’s education for you.
And how did they find out?
What apparently uncovered the coach was when some girls didn’t make the cheerleading squad because they had a few unexcused absences from school. Their parents then made copies of Christine and dropped the pictures on the principal’s desk.
Awesome. Get cut from cheerleading, get the cheerleading coach fired.
By the way, the photos are here. In case it isn’t blindingly obvious, they are not safe for work. Unless you work in a Sacramento school, in which case you can cast all the stones you want.
With Fast Times and Ridgemont High and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, I could at least claim those were fictional accounts of a high school experience that was better than mine.
Thanks to you, I can not say the same for these.
I am more astonished that today’s high schoolers are that conniving. Getting a teacher or a coach fired was far beyond the range of things I contemplated as a teenager.
By contrast, I did contemplate Phoebe Cates.
