I am still disappointed Obama ran away from this obvious observation (http://vetsforobama.org/2008/06/30/defending-wes-clark/).  I wanted Clark for VP, but in the event, I cannot understand why you would muzzle the guy who is best positioned to deflate McCain’s warrior myth.

Patton is supposed to have told his troops that the object in war is not to die for your country, it is to make the other guy die for his.  Intercepting a Vietnamese surface to air missile with your A-4 and then getting tortured for five years may be brave but is hardly the ideal use of pilot’s training (for that matter, McCain managed to destroy five US aircraft in a career that spanned all of 23 combat missions, which probably gives some insight into his ability to understand the importance of cost in a military strategy).  And, as for Meghan McCain’s claim that only her family understands combat (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMxp5UkeGCc), here are the folks whose last name begins with “M” who won the Medal of Honor in Vietnam:
